(SOUTHERN SLOBODZHANSK FRONT, KHARKIV OBLAST) – Ukrainian border guards have repelled a week of sustained Russian assault operations on the Southern Slobozhansk front, according to a statement from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU). The defence was conducted by the “Hart” border brigade.
Russian forces continued active offensive actions throughout the week, deploying large numbers of small infantry groups in an attempt to storm Ukrainian positions across various sectors. These assaults were supported by intensive enemy drone activity, aviation, artillery and mortar fire.
The soldiers of the “Hart” brigade held their ground. Border guards stationed directly on the front line, alongside reconnaissance and strike groups of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), detected and destroyed the attacking forces in a timely manner. This was achieved with the support of artillery and mortar units, and also included strikes on Russian territory as the occupiers were still advancing towards the Ukrainian state border.
The border guards, operates as part of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, to effectively destroy enemy personnel and equipment, thwarting Russian attempts to break through in the northern part of Kharkiv Oblast.
The operation was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU). The engagements occurred on the Southern Slobozhansk front in northern Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine.
