(SOUTHERN SLOBODA DIRECTION, KHARKIV OBLAST) – Ukrainian border guards have destroyed a Russian 152mm 2A36 Giatsint-B howitzer used to provide fire support for enemy units on the Southern Sloboda direction, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) reported on 19th August 2026.
Operators from the Apex unmanned aerial systems unit of the rapid response border commandant’s office, part of the Forpost Brigade, identified the enemy artillery piece during reconnaissance operations.
After locating the target, drone operators carried out a precision strike. The artillery system was reduced to scrap metal, according to the SBGS press service.
“The coordinated work of reconnaissance and strike unmanned systems allows us to systematically reduce the enemy’s fire capabilities and disrupt its plans in this direction,” the statement said.
