(KYIV) – The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed they engaged another 12 targets in the Black and Azov Seas as part of Operation “MoLoChKa,” targeting Russia’s shadow fleet. Commander Robert “Madiar” Brovdi reported the strikes on social media on Saturday.
Brovdi stated that three guided missiles from a Russian “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft gun and missile system narrowly missed a Ukrainian drone, but a shadow fleet vessel in the area of Gelendzhik was nevertheless hunted down.
A further 12 vessels from the remainder of the shadow fleet were engaged by Ukrainian drones in the Black and Azov Seas between 1 and 8 August.
Between 6 July and 8 August, Operation “MoLoChKa” has effectively engaged 218 watercraft, including 134 in the Azov Sea and 84 in the Black Sea. Brovdi added that the operation will continue beyond the initially pledged target of 221 vessels.
Footage of the strikes was released by the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The engagements occurred near Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, and in the Black and Azov Seas.
