Border Brigade Neutralises 458 Russian Soldiers in August

(KHARKIV OBLAST, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian border guards from the “Hart” brigade have neutralised 458 Russian soldiers during August, preventing enemy breakthrough attempts along the South Slobozhanskyi direction in northern Kharkiv Oblast, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Of the 458 occupiers neutralised, 243 were killed, 191 were wounded and 24 were taken prisoner.

Throughout August, Russian occupation forces continued attempts to break through the defence line held by the Hart border brigade. Enemy tactics remained largely unchanged compared to previous months, with large numbers of small infantry groups attempting to breach the line of contact, seize Ukrainian positions and infiltrate Ukrainian territory.

The Russian groups operated with the support of aviation, artillery and drones. Despite this, soldiers of the Hart brigade continued to hold back the enemy assault and prevented any Russian advance.

The brigade operates as part of Ukraine’s Defence Forces to destroy enemy forces and equipment, holding back Russian breakthrough attempts in the north of Kharkiv Oblast.

The figures and footage were released by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on 1st September 2026.
