(KYIV, UKRAINE) – Ukraine’s border guards have released footage showing the “Shkval” rapid response border command shooting down Russian Shahed drones with interceptor drones. The unit, part of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment, operates within the Ukrainian Defence Forces and counters Russian strike drones on a daily basis.
The task of the Shkval unit’s anti aircraft interceptor drone crews is to detect and intercept enemy Shahed and Gerbera drones, preventing them from reaching their designated targets, the State Border Guard Service said:
Every destroyed drone represents potentially saved lives and preserved infrastructure. For the Shkval crews, every detected target and every successfully intercepted drone matters.
Each interception involves the work of operators, navigators and specialists in electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare. It requires concentration, experience and rapid reaction. The coordination of the entire team, from target detection to interception, is also essential.
The video was released by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
