(KYIV, UKRAINE) – The Alpha special operations centre of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has retained its position as the top performing unit among Ukraine’s Defence Forces for the sixth consecutive month, according to verified data released by the SBU.
In August 2026, Alpha operatives eliminated nearly 6,000 occupying soldiers, the SBU reported. The unit has maintained the highest strike rates among Ukrainian defence units for six months, inflicting significant losses on Russian forces both on the front line and in the rear.
The verified figures for August 2026 also include the destruction or damage of:

9,142 unmanned aerial vehicles and various types of unmanned systems

2,977 units of automotive equipment

2,791 antennas and communication nodes

222 ammunition and equipment warehouses

The SBU also issued a recruitment appeal, inviting candidates to join the Alpha unit. Interested parties can call 4444 free of charge or complete an application form at alfa.ssu.gov.ua.
