(KYIV) – Ukrainian forces have again targeted Russian energy infrastructure, launching a drone attack on the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region, a major export hub. The overnight strike into Friday caused a fire at the facility, according to reports.
The attack coincided with continued Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine, where two people were killed and twenty others were wounded by Russian shelling in the Donetsk region.
In a separate incident highlighting regional tensions, NATO fighter jets on an air defence mission shot down a drone that had breached Latvian airspace early Friday. The incident comes amid a reported rise in similar violations reported by Baltic states and other NATO members, including Poland.
In other news, Poland has resolved a dispute with the American company Starlink over roaming rates for its satellite internet service. The agreement was announced by Poland’s digital affairs minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski.
