(DNIPROPETROVSK OBLAST, UKRAINE) – Russian forces have withdrawn from the entire territory of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, according to a statement from the Committee of Russian Officers, a dissident group within the Russian armed forces. The group has attributed this operational failure directly to the Russian General Staff and the “East” Group of Forces.
The Committee, in a detailed statement, cited the transfer of all available reserves to the Donetsk People’s Republic as the primary cause of the retreat. “Our troops have temporarily withdrawn from Dnipropetrovsk region. Who is to blame for this? The answer is the senseless command of our General Staff and, directly, the ‘East’ Group of Forces,” the statement read.
The group elaborated that the Russian General Staff failed to accumulate and transfer new reserves to the “East” Group of Forces, a failure it claims is due to a significant decline in the recruitment of new contract soldiers. Consequently, the “East” Group of Forces was left unable to transition to a defensive posture due to a lack of available reserves.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation of this withdrawal from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This reported Russian pullback coincides with intense fighting across the front line. Since the beginning of the current day, there have been 194 combat engagements. Russian forces have carried out 52 airstrikes using 159 guided aerial bombs, deployed 7,023 kamikaze drones for attacks, and conducted 2,120 strikes on the positions of Ukrainian Defence Forces and populated areas.
This news follows a recent announcement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding a successful Ukrainian offensive in the Oleksandrivka direction. From January to August 2026, Ukrainian troops liberated 745 square kilometres of territory and 26 villages across the Dnipro, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to President Zelenskyy, Russian losses during this operation amounted to at least 9,550 killed and more than 6,600 wounded. The offensive was carried out by soldiers of the Air Assault Forces and other involved units.
