Only One Tanker Reaches Crimea After Ukrainian Drone Ambush

(KYIV) – Ukrainian drone operators have destroyed two of three fuel tankers attempting to supply Russian occupation forces in Crimea, according to footage released by the unmanned systems unit Magyar’s Birds.

The video, published on August 2, shows precision strikes on a fuel convoy attempting the increasingly perilous land route to the occupied peninsula. Only one of the three tankers is reported to have reached its destination.

The unit, led by commander Robert Magyar, titled the footage with the observation that fuel reaches Crimea with extreme difficulty, noting that “only one of the three slipped through.” The video description added, in reference to the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s war aims, that “all SMO tasks will be fulfilled, thanks to the significant downing of Ukrainian drones on your orders.”

The strikes form part of a sustained Ukrainian campaign to sever Russian logistics in occupied territories. A dedicated online tracking board maintained by the unit, titled the “SBS Counter,” catalogues destroyed targets and is publicly accessible.

Footage of the fuel tanker strikes was released by Magyar’s Birds. The intercepts occurred along ground supply routes in occupied southern Ukraine approaching Crimea.
