(YAROSLAVL, RUSSIA) – A Ukrainian drone strike has knocked out roughly 40 percent of capacity at the Yaroslavl oil refinery in Russia, according to Ukrainian drone manufacturer Fire Point.
Fire Point said its long range FP-1 unmanned aerial vehicles struck the AVT-3 crude oil primary distillation unit at the refinery on 28th August.
The unit has a capacity of 6.2 million tonnes of oil per year, accounting for approximately 40 percent of the facility’s total processing capacity.
The company said the shutdown of the unit would lead to a reduction in the volume of primary crude oil processing at the site.
Earlier, Fire Point confirmed the FP-1 attack on the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl.
The Slavneft-YANOS facility is one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, with a design capacity of about 15 million tonnes of oil per year. It produces petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, including fuel for jet engines.
The distance to the target is more than 700 kilometres from Ukraine’s state border.
