Russian State TV Host Threatens Nuclear Strike on US

(MOSCOW) – Russian state television host Vladimir Solovyov has issued a direct nuclear threat against the United States, warning that any direct American military intervention in support of Ukraine would justify a strategic nuclear strike.

Speaking on his radio programme “Full Contact,” Solovyov reacted angrily to comments made by US Senator John Kennedy, who had urged Washington to increase pressure on the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Senator Kennedy described Putin as having “blood under his fingernails” and called for the United States to “strangle” the Russian economy through sanctions.

Solovyov dismissed the senator as an unknown figure and questioned his background. He then suggested that if America sided with Ukraine and sought the killing of the Russian leader, it would provide clear grounds for a strategic nuclear strike “without deliberation.”

The Russian host argued that no one could win such a conflict, stating “civilisation would no longer exist.” He added that a world without Russia was unacceptable.

Solovyov also speculated about a broader redistribution of territory, suggesting that Britain could lose its islands to Argentina while America took Greenland and Iceland. He claimed Russia would be forced to “eliminate the threat” from Norway, Finland, and Poland.

The state media figure further asserted that Europe lacked any meaningful air defence system and that Russia possessed weapons capable of reaching the continent. “We will fight,” he declared.

Solovyov’s rhetoric follows a pattern of escalating nuclear threats from Russian state media figures since the full scale invasion of Ukraine began.

Footage of the broadcast was shared by the Russian Media Monitor project, which tracks Kremlin propaganda.
