Solovyov: The Worse Europe Is, the Better for Russia

(MOSCOW) – A Russian state television presenter has called for the seizure or sinking of Norwegian, British and French vessels, the rejection of any unified Europe, and the support of internal conflicts, migration problems and terrorist attacks across the continent.

Vladimir Solovyov, host of the programme “The Evening With Vladimir Solovyov” on Russian state television, made the remarks during a broadcast on 11th September 2026. He was joined by Henry Sardaryan, Dean of the School of Governance and Politics at MGIMO University in Moscow. The footage was released by the Russian Media Monitor YouTube channel.

Solovyov stated: “The worse things are in Europe, the better for us. There is no Europe.” He called for Hungary to expel Russian diplomats and close all projects, adding: “No gas, no oil, no trade, nothing. Just nothing. Not even the nuclear power station. Remove everything.”

He described hunger, the absence of fertilisers, internal conflicts, migration problems, divisions between left and right, and terrorist attacks as positive developments. “Everything that is bad for them is good for us,” he said. He called for supporting the rights of migrants and for all peoples who have suffered at the hands of Europe to travel there and “settle scores.”

Solovyov said no unified Europe should be recognised and no European shipping should be permitted. “Seize Norwegian ships, British ships, French ships. If we cannot seize them, sink them. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” He added that Russia should not recognise the 300 billion dollars (approximately £237 billion) of its frozen assets, saying: “We confiscate everything you have here. If you want to take something from our oligarchs, we do not care. We simply take everything.”

He stated that Russia is ready to support any problems Europe may have. “You set the task of destroying Russia. You say you will support Ukraine to the end. That means you will be destroyed. Simply and clearly.” He added that Russia is not interested in Europe but in “beautiful relations with China and America.” He said all enemies of Europe should receive Russian assistance.

“Forget about Europe. This project is written off. It no longer exists. Written off,” Solovyov said. He described Europe as “a rubbish heap somewhere in the corner of our continent” with nothing of interest for Russia. “Later we will clean it up, it will be a beautiful tourist zone, but industrially and intellectually it is completely uninteresting. Alas, their time has passed. That happens.”

Sardaryan said Europe’s main problem is that its societies, whether Catholic, Protestant or in some cases Orthodox, cannot integrate large numbers of representatives of Islamic civilisation whom they themselves brought there. He argued that statistics on violence against women, violent crime and drug use do not show Islamic countries at the top. “Maybe their problem is not with Islam? Maybe their problem is with their heads and with themselves?” he said. He added that during periods of interregnum or anomie, society seeks the hardest hand. “Society never wants a return to the old normality. It says: ‘I am ready to give up most of my freedom, ready to give up my usual way of life. Just ensure my security and restore order.’ That is what awaits us in Europe. Thank God.”

Solovyov said: “I want the caliphate of Berlin to be free, so that I accept Islam.” He added that Europe should be free from what he described as the dominance of LGBT organisations, which are banned in Russia. “Therefore I will support both the caliphate and, firstly, this has all happened before in European history. I see no problem in it.” He said if the majority of the population practises Islam, they should have the right to build as many mosques as they want and live as they wish. “We have no problems with Islam.”
