Ukrainian Uncrewed Boat Sinks Russian Vessel in Historic First

(KYIV) – For the first time in history, a Ukrainian uncrewed surface vessel has destroyed a Russian one in combat, the Ukrainian Navy has confirmed.

The engagement was conducted by the Ukrainian Navy together with the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. A Sargan 3000 uncrewed surface vessel, equipped with a 12.7 mm RWS Protector automatic turret, destroyed the Russian boat.

The Ukrainian Navy press centre released footage of the incident.

The Defence Forces struck a naval base in Novorossiysk, in Russia’s Krasnodar region, during the night of 9th September, targeting warships and carriers of Kalibr missiles.

Satellite imagery later emerged online showing damage to three Russian ships, all carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, following the combined strike on the military port of Novorossiysk.
