(PENZA, RUSSIA) – A newly built Wildberries logistics hub in Penza, approximately 1,539 km from Ukraine, was struck by Ukrainian drones overnight, igniting a heavy fire at the facility, open source imagery verified on 30 July showed.
Video footage captured the moment of impact, with at least two drones striking different sections of the warehouse while flames were already spreading. The facility, constructed in 2025 and opened in October of that year, spans 90,000 square metres. An expansion was underway that would have increased its footprint to 180,000 square metres, making it the third largest Wildberries site in Russia.
Russian authorities claimed anti-drone measures were activated at the site. The measures failed to prevent the strike.
The Penza hub is the sixth Wildberries facility to be destroyed or badly damaged in a sustained Ukrainian campaign targeting the retailer’s logistics network. Several additional strikes have hit warehouses not officially part of Wildberries but believed to rent storage space to the firm. A small number of strikes on the network have been unsuccessful.
The targeted facility had been operational for less than a year.
