(SOUTHERN SLOBODA DIRECTION, KHARKIV OBLAST) – Ukrainian border guards have destroyed four enemy vehicles, including those fitted with electronic warfare systems, in the Southern Sloboda direction.
The press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU) reported on the engagements on 17th August 2026. Operators from the “STRIKS” unit of the 4th Border Detachment continued targeting enemy logistics and armour. The four vehicles were destroyed by drone strikes, despite efforts by Russian forces to protect them with electronic warfare (EW) equipment designed to jam unmanned aerial vehicles.
In addition to the drone strikes, another enemy vehicle was destroyed after detonating on a mine remotely emplaced by the border guards. The unit also neutralised two enemy mines and one enemy drone during the same period.
The press service noted that the electronic warfare systems, intended to give the occupiers an advantage, failed to protect the vehicles from the “STRIKS” operators.
The engagements were documented in a video released by the Press Service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
