Russian Refinery and Bomber Base Struck Alongside Wildberries Hub in Samara

KYIV) – A massive logistics hub belonging to Russia’s Wildberries retailer has been completely destroyed by Ukrainian drone strikes in Samara Oblast.

The facility at Novosemeykino, covering 178,000 square metres, was one of the largest of its kind in Russia. Footage verified on 2 August shows the warehouse engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading exceptionally rapidly.

This marks the eleventh Wildberries hub to be entirely destroyed since Ukraine began systematic strikes on the company’s logistics network. Three additional hubs have also been attacked. Almost half of the top 25 facilities are now eliminated.

Most of the remaining hubs lie within range of Ukrainian drones in western Russia. Only one facility, number 19 at Vladivostok in the Russian Far East, is expected to survive due to its distance from Ukraine.

The Samara region endured further strikes on the same night. The Saratov oil refinery, which processes 7 million tonnes of crude per year, was hit by multiple drones, causing separate fires and heavy damage to processing towers. The refinery ranks joint 19th largest in Russia and has been struck repeatedly in the past.

Ukraine also targeted Engels air base, a principal operating base for Russian Tu-95 Bear and Tu-160 strategic bombers. A Tu-160 bomber reportedly arrived at the base hours before the strike.

Footage of the operations was released by the Suchomimus YouTube channel, which tracks verified military strikes.
