Ukraine Strikes 240 Occupied Energy Facilities Including Crimea Plant Since July

(KYIV) – Ukrainian forces have struck 29 energy facilities in occupied territories in the south, including the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant in Crimea, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces confirmed on Friday.

Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign “Madyar,” released footage on social media showing the strikes, which form part of the wider operation dubbed “Crimean Switch Off.”

“Occupation noir: plus 29 energy facilities in the South of the TOT visited by the Unmanned Systems Forces’ Bird as part of Operation ‘Crimean Switch Off’,” Brovdi wrote.

The Balaklava Thermal Power Plant near Sevastopol in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was among the targets listed.

According to the commander, 240 energy facilities have been successfully struck since the operation began on 1 July through to 13 August.

“De-energising stationary radars and other elements of the enemy’s air defence disrupts the sky protection system and opens the way for the Freedom-Loving Ukrainian Bird,” Brovdi said.

The strikes were carried out by multiple units, including the 414th Unmanned Systems Brigade “Birds of Madyar,” the 427th Brigade “Rarog,” the 411th Brigade “Hawks,” the 412th Brigade “Nemesis,” the 20th Brigade “K-2,” the 9th Brigade, and the “Phoenix” group of the State Border Guard Service.

Targets included electrical substations across Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, and Luhansk Oblast, as well as the Mariupol gas distribution station in Donetsk Oblast.

Footage of the strikes was released by the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
