“Crimean Switch Off” Strikes 201 Energy Targets Since July

(KYIV) – Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have struck 13 energy infrastructure nodes across temporarily occupied territories in the south of the country over a 48 hour period, according to commander Robert Magyar.

The operation, dubbed “Crimean Switch Off”, targeted electrical substations and a gas distribution station across Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Luhansk oblasts, as well as occupied Crimea, between 4 and 5 August. The cumulative total of energy nodes hit since the operation began on 1 July now stands at 201.

The strikes have caused blackouts in Mariupol, Melitopol, Henichesk, Berdiansk, Zuhres, and Prymorskyi Posad. Among the key facilities damaged are a 750 kV substation in Kremenivka, Donetsk Oblast, a 330 kV substation in Mariupol, and multiple 150 kV and 110 kV installations across the occupied south.

Units involved in the coordinated strikes included the 1st Operations Centre, the 414th Brigade “Birds of Magyar”, the 427th Brigade “Raroh”, the 412th Brigade “Nemesis”, and the 20th Brigade “K-2”. A gas distribution station in Natashyne, Crimea, was also struck by the 9th Battalion “Kairos” of the 414th Brigade.
