Russian State TV Host Calls for Extermination of Ukrainians in Genocidal Rant

(MOSCOW, RUSSIA) – A Russian state television host has called for the extermination of Ukrainians and urged residents of Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv to flee, in a broadcast that amounts to an explicit incitement to genocide.

Vladimir Solovyov, host of The Evening With Vladimir Solovyov on Russian state television, said the only correct response to the West was to destroy Ukrainians. “We do not need to say anything more to them. We just need to destroy them all,” he said. “I believe the most correct answer is not even to pay attention to all these wailings from Zelensky. Just destroy them all. The simplest answer.”

Solovyov dismissed concerns about NATO’s response, claiming the alliance’s combined power is insufficient to surpass Russia. “They do not understand who they are playing with,” he said. “They do not understand that the combined might of NATO is still not enough to surpass us. And as for them fearing our response, there is no need to fear. They just need to come to terms with it and understand.”

Addressing Ukrainian civilians directly, he said: “I will repeat for the hundredth time: residents of Kyiv, leave the city. You are doomed. Residents of Odesa, Mykolaiv, you have had your laugh.” When asked whether Russians should think about Ukrainians, he replied: “Yes, we think about where to store you all.”

Solovyov described Kharkiv as a city dear to him, noting that his grandparents graduated from the Kharkiv Aviation Institute before the war. He said many people in Ukrainian cities are willing to conceal family ties to Russians. “Do not be afraid, do not be afraid,” he said, laughing.

He acknowledged that many Russians have relatives, friends and acquaintances in Ukraine. “That is precisely why this war is so cruel and so tragic, because it carries elements of a civil war. So do not look for mercy from us. Do not look for it,” he said. “There are no wars more bitter than civil wars. Understanding, sympathy, you will come to us. But indulgences solely for the fact that we know you? No, no.”

Solovyov also commented on reports that Kyiv residents are fleeing the city. He noted that Patrick Turner, NATO’s representative in Ukraine, has been posting photographs near the Pivnichnyi Bridge. “And if we finish off this fool there, will there be some outraged reaction from the West? Yes,” he said. “They will get a medal. What we have said a hundred times: do not go there, it will end badly. Remove your embassy. No, we will not remove the embassy. Well, tonight, do not go far. Do not go far. You will like it.”

The broadcast was released by Russian Media Monitor, a project that tracks Russian state media propaganda.
