(MOSCOW, RUSSIA) – Russian state television host Vladimir Solovyov has called for merciless strikes against Finland and Britain, declaring that the war in Ukraine requires “ruthlessness” and that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s forces should “wipe everything from the face of the earth.”
Speaking on his radio programme “Full Contact”, Solovyov said: “We want to change the perception of the Finns. Strike Finland mercilessly, most severely. We want the British to understand something. Strike Britain. Most severely, mercilessly.”
The broadcaster, a prominent Kremlin propagandist, rejected any notion of restraint in the conflict. “Stop striking Kyiv at night so that no one gets hurt. We must strike so that people do get hurt,” he said. “We must wage war not against stones, but against people.”
Solovyov said returning Russian soldiers would demand answers about what civilians did during the war. “When we were fighting for you, what were you doing here? What kind of country will these men return to? They will return, and they will return as victors.”
He dismissed Western opinion and suggested Russia should be prepared to use nuclear weapons. “I believe everything they can give, they will give, including nuclear weapons,” he said, referring to the United States. “I believe they will try to deceive us in every way they can.”
The host also addressed domestic critics, stating: “This is my call for ruthlessness here and there, against external and internal enemies. History is written by the victors. We must write it on the front and in the rear.”
Solovyov referenced the execution of Nazi leaders after the Second World War, saying: “None of them repented. We do not need to re-educate their successors. We need to destroy them. We do not need their love. We do not need their repentance. We do not need their awareness. We need them to die. We need them to die.”
He added that “Kyiv should not exist at all” and described the conflict as far from over. “The war is still very far from completion. Nothing will resolve itself.”
